...Interesting whether it’s ‘whomever’ or ‘whoever’.<br />I think ‘whom’ and its derivatives are used when the people are the object of the sentence, i.e. when the verb is doing things to ‘whom’ or ‘whomever’.<br />In this case the verb is ‘gobbled’ and the people are the subject of the sentence, i.e. they’re doing the gobbling.<br />So, as a non expert grammar aficionado, my two cents are on ‘whoever’ – which sounds less formal anyway.<br />xxfarmdochttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16930413233202159473noreply@blogger.com
